What should you expect at this year’s August Wilson Monologue Competition Portland Regional Finals? We’ll start with our twelve Portland area high school students performing the work of master playwright, August Wilson. Then, we’ll move to the contemporary resonance of two of the powerful monologues of Hands Up!, kicking off our 2017 tour of this phenomenal, transformative collection of post-Ferguson monologues. Finally, we will weave our way through the music that has helped forge a culture – from its African beginnings to blues to jazz to hip hop.
